| Abstract | Diazoresin (DR)-based ultra-thin films were fabricated on anodized aluminium plate (AAP) and investigated. The results show that the adsorption of DR on AAP surface is characteristic of Langmuir-type and reaches saturation rapidly. The thickness of adsorbed monolayer films was determined with angle-resolve X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (ARXPS) to be 2.5-3.5 nm. It was confirmed that after UV-irradiation the DR combines tightlywith the AAP surface via chemical bonding. As a result, the monolayer films exhibit excellent wear resistance and high stability towards solvents. Meanwhile the AAP surface nature becomes hydrophobic from original hydrophilic and accepts ink easily. In addition, the DR-poly(sodium vinyl sulfonate) (PSVS) multilayer films were also fabricated on AAP surface via self-assembly technique. The DR-PSVS multilayer film, which can dissolve in sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) aqueous solution, becomes insoluble after UV-irradiation due to the linkage conversion between the layers from ionic bond to covalent bond.
